The City of Newport Beach seeks a motivated and detail-oriented individual to join the team as a full-time Administrative Assistant to the Human Resources Director.

Your Impact:
- Provides executive support to the Human Resources Director
- Maintains calendars, makes appointments, schedules meetings and departmental activities
- Interacts with City Council Members and attends monthly Civil Service Board Meetings
- Addresses department personnel including timesheets and personnel action forms
- Oversees administrative operations

Schedule:
- This position may work a 5/40, 9/80, or 4/10 schedule.
Selection Components:
- Application Evaluation: Applications will be accepted on a continuous basis with the first review date on May 16, 2023 or at 150 applications- whichever occurs first. The City offers an excellent benefit package and membership in the California Public Employees' Retirement System (CalPERS) Retirement formula is based on appointment date and membership status with CalPERS and the employee is required to contribute 11.5% of pay toward the retirement benefit.

Experience & Education and License/Certificate
A combination of experience and education that would likely provide the required knowledge and abilities may be qualifying. A typical way to obtain the knowledge and abilities would be:
Experience: Four or more years of increasingly responsible administrative, secretarial, and clerical experience.
Education: Equivalent to completion of high school, supplemented by coursework or training in word processing and spreadsheet software programs, work planning, and office supervision.
License/Certificate: Due to the performance of some field duties which require the operation of a personal or City vehicle, a valid and appropriate California driver's license and an acceptable driving record are required.
