Laudato Si’ Movement (LSM) is an international network of 900 Catholic organizations and thousands of grassroots leaders working together to care for our common home and advance climate and ecological justice. About this position
LSM’s Special Projects team is responsible for compelling global initiatives that unite the Church around shared values. As the communications manager for the team, you will plan and implement communications initiatives for these projects. From creating a social media strategy to troubleshooting a website, your guidance and hands-on help will ensure that our communications succeed.
You will be an essential part of a small team that is making a big difference for our common home. We’re looking for someone who is both collegial and able to work independently, someone who is both willing to learn and deeply experienced. We hope that person is you!
Key Responsibilities
- Create a strategy to meet recruitment and participation targets.
- Define key performance indicators, create reports on KPIs, and continually evaluate and iterate to achieve better results.
- Develop and implement communications calendars and campaigns, working within a highly complex environment to serve multiple audiences speaking multiple languages through multiple channels.
- Schedule and publish 5-10 blog posts, social media posts, and emails in multiple languages.
- Make updates and technical fixes to platforms including SalesForce, GetResponse, and WordPress.
- Create videos, slideshows, and graphic design elements using Canva and similar tools.
- Create style guides and brand outlines Line manage a writer and coordinate translation and graphic design.
Essential Skills
The ideal candidate will meet all of the following criteria:
- 3-5 years of experience developing complex communications plans in a nonprofit grassroots organization.
- 3-5 years of experience developing communications strategy in a nonprofit grassroots organization.
- 3-5 years of experience managing a CRM, a website editor such as WordPress, and a social media management tool such as HootSuite.
- Excellent written and verbal skills; English language is required, and Spanish is highly desirable.
- Excellent organizational and project management skills, capable of simultaneously managing multiple projects with different deadlines.
Desirable Skills
The ideal candidate will meet three of the following criteria:
- Experience working well as part of a team as well as independently in a remote environment.
- Experience working with SalesForce.
- Awareness of ecological issues.
- Experience working within the Catholic Church.
Languages: Fluent in English, other languages like Spanish, Italian, French, or Portuguese are a plus.
Salary: Competitive salary commensurate with experience
Hours: 40 hours per week
Location: United States, Mexico, Argentina, Brazil, or Spain
