The role sits in insurance of WPB. It reports to Chief Executive Officer of Insurance China (INSH). Key responbility is to focus on INSH distribution channel of bancassurance and alternative channel such as broker. Distrubition partner currently includes WPB of HBCN and HACN, CMB of HBCN, GPB of HBCN, PINB and other broker companies.

In this role, you will:
Responsibility of this position, Chief Distribution Officer, Bancassurance & Broker, focus on INSH distribution channel of bancassurance and broker.
Establish new business relationships and strengthening existing ones, whilst ensuring fair outcomes for customers
Communicate new products, propositions and relevant market information to customers
Proactively identify sales opportunities and develop these opportunities
Devise plans and strategies to generate new business, as well as increase revenue for existing ones to achieve asset growth, sales or revenue targets
Collaborate with internal stakeholders which may include relationship mangers and product specialists to maximise cross-selling opportunities for the bank
Participate in events, initiatives and activities to develop business opportunities
Developing and implementing distribution channel business development strategies
Protect the bank’s reputation and ensure an acceptable risk profile whilst deepening your understanding of the client through credit and customer due diligence reviews
The role holder is the designated Key Person for the control function of Intermediary Management under the CBIRC’s regulatory guidance.
The KPIs of the role include the achievement of ANP and VNB targets against plan, customer penetration rates by segment, new business volume (policy count), profitability (PBT and VNB, MCVNB), persistency, key sales/channel performance metrics (eg activity and productivity of sales force), customer experience, sales and service efficiency, relevant risk and compliance measures, expense control, business growth and execution of group/ country initiatives.
To be successful in the role, you should meet the following requirements:
A minimum of 15 years of broad experience in business development, distribution development and maintenance, sales management in life insurance industry
Recognized insurance professional with industry standing in the market, preferably holding relevant insurance professional qualification and with at least bachelor’s degree.
Proficient in HSBC principles, philosophy, operating models, and controls culture
Possess strong drive and commitment to lead the team to deliver aggressive business growth targets
Possess the ability to apply entrepreneurial and commercial thinking to delivering business performance
Possess strategic thinking capability
Excellent leadership to deliver business objectives
Able to create a positive working relationship with related stakeholders internally and externally
Strong verbal and written communication skills in both English & Chinese
